This interestingly points out that higher casualties of enemy may not necessarily point at winning, but also that there are more of them out there.
Now you would think that give the number of years this has been going on, there would be less of the enemy. So it could be a sign of losing rather than winning.

How can soldiers leave their vehicles to plant mines and at the same time be under threat of attack. Surely if you are under attack you either attack from air or you don't leave your vehicle.
